You may of heard the expression of putting lipstick on a pig when manufactures make a superficial or cosmetic change to their product line in a futile attempt to disguise the true nature of their products and this is exactly what RMR is doing with their newest line of radar/laser detectors and scramblers.
Rocky Mountain Radar is advertising their new CR-495 camo line as well as their standard radar detector and scrambler as having 5-mile detection range.
But as we document in this video recorded during our annual radar detector and laser jammer test, that their CR-495 did not alert to instant on Ka-band until we were 3960 feet away from the radar gun source, which would not be enough range to avoid an expensive speeding ticket.
